Enriquillo Lake
Early in the morning you will start an approximately 4-hours long drive with air-conditioned bus to the National Park, the driest place of Dominican Republic, where is situated the largest salty waters lake in the Caribbean – Lago Enriquillo. There you will board a speed boat and during the navigation to the Cabritos Island you will see not only dozens of birds like e.g.: flamingos, herons and gulls, but also American crocodiles. The major attraction of the excursion is Iguanas, endemic reptiles who live in the cactus jungle on this desert island. You can try to feed them with mature bananas or “only” take pictures of them. Then you will go back to the bank where you will refresh yourself with a cold lunch and a bath in the cool sulfuric waters of a lagoon. On the way back, depending on the political situation, you will visit a typical Haitian market situated at the border, and then you will continue to enjoy the natural wonders of the Dominican Republic.
